After the exceptionally wet spell of weather around Christmas, one may be forgiven for expecting better conditions in the New Year. However, over 74 millimetres of rain fell during the thunderstorms on Thursday (7th), and that was more than on any day during December. So far this month over 120 millimetres (5 inches) of rain have fallen.
