Weather in Malaga during April 2009
Rather dry with average temperatures.
Temperatures

The average maximum temperature during April 2009 in Malaga was 21.1 Celsius (70F), and that was very close to normal for the time of year.  The average minimum was 12.2 Celsius (54F), which, again,  was close to the normal April value. 

The highest temperature recorded  during the month was 26.6 Celsius (80F) on the 21st. There were 2 other days with maxima exceeding 25 Celsius (77F), the 24th,  with a high of 25.5 Celsius (78F), and the 29th with a maximum of 26.0 Celsius (79F). There were 10 days during the month with maxima below 20 Celsius (68F), but with only 1 of these days occurring after the 17th. The coolest day of the month was the 15th with a maximum temperature of 15.1 Celsius (59F).

There were several fairly mild nights during April. On 5 nights, the minimum temperature remained above 14 Celsius (57F), but only one of these nights, the 4th/5th with 14.4 Celsius (58F), occurred during the first half of April. The mildest night was the 24th/25th with a minimum of 15.9 Celsius (60F). The coolest nights  occurred early in the month with minima  below 10 Celsius (50F) on 4 nights. The lowest temperature was measured early on the 1st with a reading of 7.9 Celsius (46F).

Sea temperatures were occasionally up to 17 Celsius (63F) early in the month, but generally they remained around 16 Celsius (61F).

Rain

The total rainfall during April was 30.1 millimetres (1.2 inches) and that was about 25% below the monthly average. Measurable rain fell on 6 days, but although this was 1 day above normal, there were only 4 days when the rainfall exceeded 1.0 millimetre (0.04 inches). After a dry first fortnight, most of the rain occurred around the middle of the month, including nearly 11 millimetres (0.4 inches) on the 18th. After the 19th the month was dry,  except for the 26th when 13.2 millimetres (0.5 inches) of rain fell, making this day the wettest of the month.  

Across southern Spain,  April was generally a rather dry, or dry, month. The table below shows the total rainfall for the month, and as a percentage of the long-term average; and also  the number of days with rain falling, plus the average.

Thunder

Thunderstorms were largely absent during April, although Almeria had one on the afternoon of the 19th.

Wind

Moderate northwesterly winds were dominant during March, although on the warmest days the breeze was often fresh. Light or gentle southeasterly sea breezes developed on several afternoons, and during the last week there were fresh or strong southwesterly winds on some afternoons. On the 26th a northwesterly gust of 33 knots (38mph) occurred.  

Fog

Sea fog occurred around Malaga on the morning of the 6th, and widely around the coasts of southern Spain on the afternoon of the 22nd http://www.malaga-weather.com/category.113.html
