A thundery month, with severe storms on the night of the 20th/21st, these lasting through the morning rush-hour on the 21st. Temperatures
The average maximum temperature during September 2007 in Malaga was 27 Celsius (81F), and that was about 1 degree Celsius (1.8F) below average for the month. The average minimum was 20 Celsius (68F), a degree above normal, but probably indicative of the increased urbanisation of the area.
The highest temperature recorded during the month was 30 Celsius (86F) on the 27th, an unusually low monthly maximum for September, the result of no strong northwesterly Fohn winds occurring. On the 23rd and 28th, the temperature failed to rise above 25 Celsius (77F), but on 18 occasions the daily high was either 26 or 27 Celsius (79-81F).

There were only 2 further nights when the minimum exceeded 22 Celsius (72F). On only 2 nights were minimum temperatures below 19 Celsius (66F), with a low of 17 Celsius (63F) on the 30th. .
Sea temperatures were 25 Celsius (77F) during the first fortnight, but remained around 23 or 24 Celsius (73-75F) for the rest of the month.

The heaviest rain occurred on the 13th when just over 9 millimetres fell. On the 21st, nearly 6 millimetres of rain fell at this site, but considerably more fell in other parts of Malaga Province, with golf ball-sized hail smashing windows and denting cars in a swath running northeastwards from Marbella to Coin, Cartama and beyond. Over 20 millimetres of rain fell at Granada during the storms with unconfirmed reports of 40 to 60 millimetres in 3 hours north of Malaga.
Thunder
Thunder was heard on 4 days. Firstly, on the morning, and again during the afternoon, of the 13th. Secondly, late in the evening of the 20th, with these storms becoming severe at times overnight and lasting well into the morning of the 21st. An isolated rumble of thunder occurred from clouds over the Sierra de Mijas on the afternoon of the 28th.
Wind
Winds were generally light or gentle throughout the month with no hot fohn winds again, although a moderate northwesterly breeze on the evening of the 27th helped to produce the highest temperature reading of the month. The usually pattern was a light northwesterly wind during the morning, becoming a light or gently southeasterly during the afternoon, falling flat calm for the evening and much of the night.
