The year 2007 was warm, especially at night. This was mainly due to the increasing urbanisation of west Malaga, but partly due to higher than average sea temperatures through much of the year. Rainfall, as usual, was sporadic, and although it rained more often than normal, the lack of very heavy downpours led to a deficit in the yearly total of over 40% when compared with the long-term average.
