Thundery rain produced over 35 mm (1.4 inches) of rain in parts of Malaga on the 23rd and during the early hours of 24th December. It was cold, too, with temperatures in the heavier rain falling to 7 or 8 Celsius (45-46F).
Around Granada 5 to 10 mm (0.2-0.4 inches) of cold rain fell with sleet in the higher suburbs. This was good news for the Sierra Nevada ski area where a fresh fall of powder snow produced some of the best Christmas skiing conditions in Europe. http://www2.sierranevadaski.com/
